Why we recommend it
The Alpha Pure-R uses heterojunction (HJT) cells, which turn more of the sunlight hitting each panel into power than standard panels do. You need fewer panels for the same system size, which matters on the terraces, townhouses and hipped roofs where usable space is tight across Melbourne.
HJT cells also lose less output as they heat up, so they hold up better on hot summer afternoons. The panels are lead-free, and they are eligible for the federal solar rebate (STCs).
Who it suits
- Small or complicated roofs where every panel counts.
- Homeowners who want a premium panel with a long warranty.
- Systems planned with a battery now or later.
Warranty and support
REC backs the Alpha Pure-R with a 25-year product and performance warranty. We register it for you at handover and keep the paperwork on file, so a claim is a phone call to us rather than a search for receipts.
What we pair it with
For solar now and a battery later we usually pair these panels with the Fronius Primo GEN24 hybrid inverter. For a complete solar and battery system in one go, the Tesla Powerwall 3 has the solar inverter built in.
